Digital Signage helps with Communication to Citizens

The municipality of Vagos faced the challenge of effectively communicating with citizens about Bupi (Balcão Único do Prédio), events, and public interest information. With Amplitude Net's World VDS digital signage solution, the municipality modernized its communication, implementing screens in strategic locations that allow for quick updates and content segmentation for each parish. Since its installation in July 2023, the solution has brought agility, cost savings, and increased attractiveness, reducing the reliance on printed brochures and promoting sustainability. The municipality also plans to expand to outdoor screens and integrate relevant data, strengthening the connection with the community.

About the Client

The municipality of Vagos is an institution with around 160 employees, whose initiatives actively seek to engage and inform residents. With the mission of streamlining internal and external communication, the municipality was challenged to effectively publicize initiatives such as Bupi - a platform for property registration - and promote events and useful information for citizens in a dynamic and accessible way.

Project Objectives

The main goal of the project was to modernize communication with citizens and give visibility to essential services like Bupi. The municipality aimed to implement a centralized visual communication system that would facilitate content updates and allow segmentation of the information displayed in each parish council according to relevance for the local audience. Another essential aspect was integration with queue management systems and, in the future, with pool occupancy management, enhancing the informational value of the solution.

Challenges Before Implementation

The municipality previously used a digital signage solution from another company, which proved limiting in various aspects. Challenges included the lack of control over displayed content, difficulty in uploading new updates, and limited configuration options. Additionally, the previous solution did not allow the municipality’s IT and communication department to monitor the screens' status, check if they were on, or see the specific content being displayed.

The local authority initially chose screens only in indoor spaces, with an expansion to outdoor equipment already planned, thus increasing the reach of communication.

The proposed digital signage solution

Amplitude Net implemented a digital signage solution that revolutionized the municipality's communication. The user-friendly back office enabled the IT and communication department to manage content more autonomously and efficiently. Highlights of the solution include:

  • Remote Monitoring: The team can now check the status of each screen and the content being displayed, simplifying management
  • Segmented Content: Allows different content to be displayed in each parish council, tailoring messages to each target audience
  • Ease of Operation: With customizable templates and content automation, the municipality can integrate news directly from the municipality's website and other information sources without constant manual intervention
  • Integration with other Systems: The solution is prepared to integrate, in the future, data such as pool occupancy rates, water quality, and energy production from the self-consumption system

Currently, the municipality has 13 screens in strategic locations, including the public pool, library, museum, and tourist information center, the latter being mobile and used for specific events.

Digital Signage and Radio in Lupo stores

About the Digital Signage and Radio Project

The hardware used in the stores consists of 65'' TCL consumer TVs and Raspberry Pi players, thus offering a quality solution at a reduced cost.

Given the capacity of the Digital Signage World VDS software, which allows the same player to manage both the screen display and the audio broadcast in the stores simultaneously, the solution becomes even more powerful. As if that weren’t enough, the same Raspberry Pi player is also capable of managing broadcasts on videowalls composed of 2 connected screens.

The TV broadcasts managed by StoreTV focus on presenting videos and images of the new seasonal collections and the ongoing promotions that Lupo has.

For audio creation, they also use one of our apps, which allows generating Voice Spots through Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The radio channel aims to tailor the sound environment to the audience according to the time of day and day of the week, reinforcing the space's identity while making both employees and customers more satisfied, increasing their willingness to purchase and boosting sales.
