Douro Azul, owned by Mystic Invest, a leading group in the cruise sector in Portugal, faced the challenge of improving internal communication between its headquarters in Porto and the operational teams on board its ships on the Douro. To address this need, a Corporate TV solution was implemented with touchscreen interactive screens strategically distributed, allowing relevant content to be dynamically shared across different areas, from operations to crew wellbeing. 

Challenges

Companies with geographically dispersed teams and large operational staff often face barriers in internal communication. Mystic Invest was no exception: the distance between the Porto headquarters and the crews on board the ships made it difficult to transmit essential information, motivate teams, and share the organisational culture. There was a sense of detachment and lack of uniformity, leading to daily misalignments. Furthermore, the updating processes were not agile, often relying on traditional methods that were time-consuming and difficult to replicate across all points of contact.

Implemented Solution

More than a dozen interactive screens (touchscreens) were installed on several cruise ships on the Douro River and also at Mystic Invest’s headquarters in Porto.

Through the World VDS software from Amplitude Net, it became possible to manage content remotely, more agilely and transversally, thereby increasing the efficiency of communication and reducing failures and the lack of information.

The commitment of the Douro Azul brand to innovation is particularly evident in this project, through the implementation of integrations with local systems and custom developments, which will be detailed further ahead.

Content management is handled by the Marketing department, ensuring continuous communication aligned with the company’s strategy.

The project was specifically designed for the ship crews and headquarters staff, ensuring that everyone receives the same information, regardless of location.
